Curtis Brown has been labeled an “industrial tour de force” in the world of artistic portraiture. Projects have included: regional theatre companies, Broadway national tours, classical ballet companies, and Broadway talent. Locations of shoots have ranged from New York City to Los Angeles to Texas, Florida, and North Carolina. Two of Curtis’ most passionate and innovative projects, The Weight of the Ribbon (for breast cancer awareness) and the Vote Against Project (for equality in North Carolina), have received national recognition. He is currently working on an underwater series that will be exhibited at the Piedmont Art Museum later this year, and his first book publication.
As a trained performer, Curtis has an extensive background in dance and theatrical work. This knowledge allows each shot to be uniquely captured in a setting that perfectly frames the strength, stamina, and beauty found in dancers. With a charismatic attention to detail, Curtis’ work translates to more than just a picture; it becomes a work of art.
